I came to art mid-life, seeking an almost desperate salvation. I was in the midst of nurturing the four children I had given birth to. Something within me continued to crave the process of giving birth, creating.
With no formal instruction I began exploring the world of color and texture through paint at the same time that I also encouraged my sense of self, my longings, my passions, my hunger for beauty.
In 1999 I attended a painting seminar in Austria under the instruction of Professor Philip Rubinov Jacobson. In addition to learning the Mische technique, I painted 8 hours a day. I was extraordinarily happy in the mere process of creating.
From that time I have committed myself to the process of expressing my longings, my fears, my strengths, my insecurities through art, in particular painting.
I believe wholeheartedly in the regenerative power of creation and the life found in the irresistible seduction of beauty.
* I am open to commissioned paintings if kept within my style.
